Anastasia and Walker’s celebration on December 28th was a breathtaking celebration that perfectly captured the essence of a winter wedding without the overt tones of Christmas (unlike my own wedding!). As a Boston wedding photographer, I was psyched to learn that they decided to plan there celebrations at The Tower: A Longwood Venue Wedding venue. This provided a historic and elegant backdrop for their afternoon reception, which started at 1 PM.
A Serene Start to the Day
Firstly, the day began with a calm and intimate atmosphere. Anastasia opted for a relaxed morning, doing her own hair and makeup. This created a calm energy and relaxed tone for the events to follow. Also, this personal touch highlighted her natural beauty and added a sense of authenticity to the wedding day preparations.
A Ceremony Steeped in Tradition
Then, the couple exchanged vows at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral of New England, located near Northeastern University. Established in 1903 and opening its doors in 1912, this historic cathedral provided a traditional, Greek setting for their vows.
Timeless Elegance in Attire
Anastasia honored her family’s heritage by wearing her great-grandmother’s gown—a stunning champagne satin dress that had been meticulously altered to fit her perfectly. Not to mention, she wore an heirloom veil–her ensemble exuding timeless elegance and sentimental value.
Afternoon Reception at The Tower: A Longwood Venue Wedding
Following the ceremony, guests gathered at The Tower: A Longwood Venue in Boston MA for an untraditional, afternoon reception. This castle-styled building, constructed in the 1890s as part of the Armory of the First Corps of Cadets, provided a unique and moody setting for their celebration.
Likewise, the couple’s choice of colors—greens, golds, and blacks—was tastefully incorporated into the decor, creating a sophisticated and cohesive aesthetic that resonated with the winter season.
A Celebration to Remember at the Tower: A Longwood Venue
Finally, the dance floor remained lively throughout the afternoon, as friends and family celebrated the union of Anastasia and Walker. The unique timing of the event, nestled between Christmas and New Year’s, added a special charm, allowing guests to revel in the holiday spirit while focusing on the couple’s special day.
In summary, Anastasia and Walker’s The Tower: A Longwood Venue wedding was a beautiful blend of tradition, elegance, and personal touches. Their thoughtful planning and attention to detail created an unforgettable day for all who attended!
